19th C. Ecclesiastic gold and silver metallic raised embroidered applique of the pelican in her piety - the mother pelican feeds her young her blood representing Christ. Applique is hand stitched to Wedgewood Blue velvet and bordered with antique silvery gold metallic serpentine galon. Hand trimmed with vintage gold metallic cording, knotted in the corners.  Down filled.
