Antique European ecclesiastic gold metallic and silk embroidered applique of the  pelican in her piety pecking herself to feed her young. Applique has beautiful coral silk embroidery and detailed sequin work. Rays are couched with coral and chartreuse silk and the division of top and bottom rays signifies heaven and earth. Hand stitched to Coral velvet. Hand trimmed with vintage gold metallic military cording, knotted in the corners.  Down filled.
