Hand stitched silk on silk suzani from Bukhara, Uzbekistan.

Large, stylized tulip motif in shades of blue, green, yellow, red, pink and lavender on a hand loomed bronze ground. Hand embroidered by one artist in a traditional chain stitch with flicker stitching adding depth and movement to the design.

Bordered with floral motif and framed in gold silk.
