Traditionally used as lids to cover pots of food, these round mats were handwoven by the Fulani people of Cameroon in the 1930s. Each piece was created by using a tightly woven mixture of grasses and cotton.  Occasionally a piece of plastic was used which was considered very rare and special in 1930's Cameroon.

 

These unique works of art make great conversation pieces and look spectacular framed!

 

Pot cover measures approximately 17 3/4" diameter.

Frame measures 23 1/4" square.
